I got into the Halloween candy last night and I’ve got a whopper of a Skittles hangover.
I’m behind. So behind that the kids did not even make it into school today and worse, I’m linking up to Stasha’s Monday Listicles on Tuesday.
I know you are all done with Halloween and that Safeway’s already playing Bing Crosby’s White Christmas, but the Listicles topic this week is Halloween so here goes, a list of 10 things Halloween-related.
1. A friend of mine got invited to go trick-or-treating at the White House and I’m thinking about not speaking to her anymore because I’m jealous. They didn’t get to meet the president or share Twizzlers with Sasha and Malia or anything, and it lasted approximately two minutes – but still…trick-or-treating…at the White House!
2. When I was a kid, my dad took us trick-or-treating in his spooky car, a vintage 1958 Cadillac Fleetwood limousine. Totally worthy of our Addam’s Family:
3. Someone gave Ella a packet of Nescafe coffee when she was trick-or-treating last night. Huh?
4. At school the kids have to dress up like a literary or historical character, and they can bring 3 clues about their identity. The whole school has to guess who they are.
5. Fiona went as Clara (in a wheelchair!) and her friend went as Heidi:
6. Ella went as Persephone. They tried to eat donuts hung from trees without using their hands:
7. But Ella couldn’t resist using her hands:
8. At nighttime they changed into Zombie Girl and Kit Kat:
And that’s all I have today – 8, not 10. (-:

I would be so jealous of trick or treating at the White House (I AM jealous and I don’t even have kids who trick or treat anymore). And I love the pic of Fiona as Clara — wow that really looks like an old pic! Zombie girl and KitKat are adorable too! As for your Skittles hangover, for me it’s Malted Milkballs. Happy November 1st!
I would have let you get away with less then eight, just to see the girls in their school costumes
and that coffee, mad! Was it at least decaf?
No, it was Regular! (-:

Ha ha – good for you, Ado. I’m nursing colds over here – hoping to link up tomorrow – so even hungover, you beat me to it!
I think dressing up as a literary character for school is such a great idea. And is there a better game than trying to eat a donut without your hands. Look like the celebration was a blast. Happy Halloween.
I really like the school dress up policy!! Such a great learning activity! Yay teachers!
First things first…I must say how jealous I am that you got to go trick or treating in your dad’s ridiculously cool car! I love it!
Your girls look great in both their day and their night costumes. No wonder you’re behind! I’m glad your family had a Happy Halloween and you got to eat too many Skittles.
WHat was that person thinking handing out coffee to kids?!
I’d like to know what a Skittle hangover feels like. Looks like y’all had a great Halloween!
The costumes are cute…and when Ella grabbed that donut? My Honey Bunny – the donut lover – was proud! I don’t know of any cures for skittles hangovers….
Weird about the coffee!
I do concur that I believe dressing up as a literary character for college is such a fantastic thought. And is there a much better sport than attempting to consume a donut without your hands. Appear like the celebration was a blast. Pleased Halloween.
Whao..the white house.. that’s super cool.. Love the pictures of your kids in their costumes.. Halloween is not a really big thing here but the kids did had fun at the party their music school organised for them y’day.. My elder boy was wrapped up as a mummy in one of their games.
I love it! I wish I had known enough about Persephone to think of that costume as a little kid.
Great pictures. I’m jealous of your friend too!
Maybe the coffee was supposed to be for you?! And trick or treating at the White House…I didn’t even know they did that. I would be jealous too!
Oh, my! I guess that the person who gave your daughter that nescafe was not expecting any children and grabbed the first available thing that looked like candy. My son wanted to open a packet of condoms once thinking that it must be some really nice candy in them because Mommy is hiding them in her drawer! haha
I had a candy corn hangover. Ugh.
The kids looked great – in both costumes.
Coffee for kids? Really? Weird.
I love the doughnuts hanging from the tree game. What a good idea.
I need to get all the Halloween candy out of my house fast, because my will power is waining.
Well welcome to the 1 day too late club! If it makes you feel any better I linked up on a Wednesday one time. Awesome, hu?! That is one spooky lookin car… I’ll bet the musty smell of it was even scarier! All old cars smell the same. Musty gasoline! :^P
The coffee is hilarious! I can remember moments like that growing up when my mom hated Halloween and wouldn’t let us participate. So we’d get a random TOTer and be all, “Here, have some raisins.” Surprised we were never egged.
Love their school costumes! Brilliant ideas!
