Our friend Stasha has chosen this week’s listicles topic in honor of International Women’s Day - 10 things to do with women. Stasha pointed out that even though this is a day invented in America, we Americans don’t really celebrate it. So I’m celebrating it by listing 10 women in history who I admire. Just for fun I’m not putting their names – see if you can guess who they are!
Well? Did you guess them all?

It’s kinda embarrassing that I sorta know who most of these women are, but CANNOT REMEMBER THEIR NAMES! Other than Princess Diana and Audrey Hepburn of course.
You have an excuse Alison…you’re pregnant!!!
I know all apart from the original tree hugger. Clearly I must consult google. Great list, I love a good Sunday night pub quiz
specially when it makes me proud to be a woman!
Julia Butterfly Hill. (-:
Nice list, best ladies ever!
Thanks!
umm so I recognized 5 out of 10. Love how you did this!
10 Women I Admire http://t.co/JnP5E85i @adothemomalog
I knew 8 of them – I blame the rest on being European… Cool idea for a listicle!
But most importantly…Is there going to be an answer to this kind-of trivia post? I do want to know their names.
I posted an addendum – answer key is upside down at the bottom! (-:
I feel bad, I only know 6 out of 10 for sure. This was a great list idea and some fabulous women!
Thanks Anna. (-:
How many of these women can you name? http://t.co/7rojMqFA 10 women @AdoTheMomalog admires.
You are so sweet! Thanks Christine for the RT!
Okay, I know 6 out of 10. At first I didn’t think that was too bad, but … that’s a D!
Great way to do your list!
I wrote the test and if you knew who Princess Di was you PASSED! (-:
I have the worst score yet, I think! I’m only sure of 5 out of 10. I hope you’re going to tell us the answers at some point, Ado!
That seems to be the average! Going to add the answser key RIGHT NOW!
I should’ve studied! I know most of them…but a couple have me stumped. I really like how you did your list this week!
Gosh thanks Chicky. (-:
One of those women on your top ten list, I also admired the Princess of Wales, Diana. But Mother Teresa is on my top list. I admire her for being kind hearted especially to those who are hungry.
I admire her too. She is so at the top of my list she didn’t even make it – she’s way wayyyy at the top. (-:
I LOVE your take on the list! There are so many amazing women out there, and while I’m kind of embarrassed to admit it, I only recognize 6 of these lovely ladies, but the ones I do recognize, I completely agree with you about their awesomeness
Thank you kindly!
Love your list and love how you did this! I’m looking forward to figuring out the women whose names I don’t know/don’t remember!
Ok, now like 30 people have said they only got some of them. I really will do an answer key…
Great list. There’s a few I don’t know – I’m off to do research!
Answer-key-coming-soon!
What a great take on this weeks list. I only got 7. I LOVE Annie Lennox.
Look for the answer key soon…
I only got 5 – I know I should have done better! I’m going to make my husband try it tonight to see how well he does
I will add an answer key!
Hmmm, I came up with five, or six if “Helen Keller’s teacher” is an appropriate answer! But this is a great reminder of what women have done and still do for the world these days, thanks!
Thanks, it was a good reminder for me too.
Annie Lennox is HIV Positive? I always loved her and she’s SO BEAUTIFUL. I got Helen Keller and of course Princess Di and Stunningly Beautifully Gorgeous Audrey Hepburn (I believe Anne Hathaway is the Audrey Hepburn of today). And Rosa Parks but only with the hint.
She’s not HIV positive (I don’t think) – wearing the shirt was her way of taking the stigma out of it, I think it was a campaign to make people who have HIV feel more positive. (-: Agreed re. the Ann Hathaway thing!
Do you know who these amazing women of history are? http://t.co/E5ynC7Vz Great post Ado!!!
Thanks for the RT Kimberly. (-:
Wow, I only got 5 out of 10. I should’ve studied more. Great list!
I didn’t know who several of them were til lately, Catherine the Great for example – NPR did a story on her latest biography. And Julia Butterfly Hill – my daughter did a report on her in school. (-: So there’s hope for you yet!
Where’s the answer key?
I love that your list is so broad! Great piece, Ado!
Thanks Jackie! I must post an addendum/answer key!
Ok, I didn’t know all of them…I knew only half. Yikes! I’m with Jackie, where’s the answer key?
I like how you did this.
Yes I should probably put an answer key – good thinking. (-:
Great list! 8/10 for me – I am not up on my Riverdancers, alas. Probably because I myself dance like a mistake, and can’t stand to be shamed by people who can!
Jean Butler! (-:
Wow! I guessed most of them on sight! So proud of myself! I especially love Catherine the Great!
@northwestmommy I posted an answer key: http://t.co/AwUEwjyw (-:
That was fun! I’m embarrassed to admit I only got about half right. Nice take on the Listicles prompt!
Thanks, I hope you were able to read upside down. (-:
I LOVE Audrey Hepburn! She is my favorite!
I loved your list! So many amazing women. I love that you have Annie Lennox on there!! I need to go download some of her music, youve inspired me
Yes thank you for the reminder, I need to download some more of her music, too. (-:
I saw your tweet and thought how cool would it be if the answers were flipped like in kids magazines? I don’t know how you did it, but your stock just went up by 10000000 points. You index in my book is out of this world!!
Hi Stasha: Just Google “upside down text” and you’ll find it!
I did not guess them all. I’m hoping I’m not the only one.
[...] at The Momalog, made our heads churn with trying to identify the 10 women in history whom she admire. I was only able to correctly identify Julia Butterfly Hill (thanks to Ado’s previous [...]
La la Love this list….and timely for Women’s History month, too! I got some, not all, but this is the great aspects of sharing.
