Here’s a picture I snapped of Ella waiting to perform at her recital today. I’m not sure it was kosher for her to be reading Horse Diaries while the other kids were performing, but I was so excited for her to stand up and play that I let it slide. PS: Horse Diaries by Patricia Hermes is an excellent series for your 6-to-8-year-old horse lover. These books are written in first-person – by the horse! – and there are a squajillion of them in the series. Ella can’t put them down. (-:

1. She protested about the frilly white socks so I’m pretty sure that’s the last we’ll see of ‘em.

So cute – she does look very patient. My oldest spent the hour or so leading up to her dance in her dance recital a couple weeks ago reading – she kept getting mad that they dimmed the lights too much for her to read
